Aleksei archer, the American performer and model, born in New York City is known for her dramatic performance and her versatility. However when she was just a day old, she relocated from St. Louis to New York City. In the year 1991, Barnard College granted her an art history degree. The same year, she was hired as an entry-level employee in a restaurant named An American Place for one year. Guarnaschelli gained her first dining experiences through watching recipes she'd edited in her mother's cookbooks getting tested at her home. She worked under Larry Forgione and then at several restaurants in New York France and Los Angeles including Guy Savoy's La Butte Chaillot. She was eventually appointed the executive chef of Butter. Guarnaschelli made an appearance on the Food Network's Iron Chef America where she took on Cat Cora in the Farmers Market Battle of 2007. In the following years, she has appeared as a judge on the program and, in 2011, competed on The Next Iron Chef season four, where she finished third runner-up. Additionally, she participated in Food Network's Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast which she lost. The fourth season of The Next Iron Chef, she began working as a sous chef for Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian. In 2008 she became the host of The Food Network's The Cooking Loft with Alex Guarnaschelli where she teaches the students in a small class instructing them on how to reinvent classic dishes.
