Born and raised in Houston Texas she aspired to become an actor from the time she was a child. She moved from Texas to Los Angeles after graduating from University of Texas in order to pursue a career as a professional actress. When she began her career, she was a commercial model. As an extra, she was first seen on television in Friday Night Lights. At first, she appeared in minor roles in TV shows like A Thin Line Supah Ninjas or How I Met Your Mother. In the year 2000 the beginning of her filming career started when she appeared in Detention as well as DisCONNECTED. On the television show General Hospital, she had her breakthrough role as Kristina. The series lasted about one year. Her career took a major jump in the year 2014. The actress was commissioned to play a mechanic named Raven Reyes on The 100 The 100, a popular American science fiction television show. She was a frequent in the beginning, but she has emerged as a lead character in the most recent seasons.
